Alumni Spotlight on Jennifer MahranA.K.A. "Baby Jen" Spring 87
I returned to Corporate America in July 2005 after traveling solo through Southeast Asia for one year. For stories and photos about my trip log on to: www.mytripjournal.com/jensjourney.
Highlights included an attempt to teach English in Cambodia, trekking for 21 days in Nepal, a two week journey through Myanmar (Burma), a brief visit to a yoga ashram in India, a grueling hike in China, and a very insightful side trip to Sri Lanka.
Now I split my time between New York City and Maryland, working by day as a freelance Events and Promotions Director, and by night as the co-founder of CharityBegins.org. Charity Begins is a non-profit which helps independent travelers deliver necessities to developing countries. We research the destinations, identify local non-profits, collect the needed supplies and deliver them to the traveler for transport.
I would love to connect other traveling Phi Lambs with non-profits from around the world. Love and always in Phi Lamb.
